Itinerary

Day 1Start Point: Gulu, Uganda

Your five-day safari to the true African wilderness kicks off early in the morning from either Entebbe or Kampala. On the way, you’ll have a lunch stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you can visit the only rhinos in Uganda. Afterward, you’ll proceed to Gulu town, crossing the mighty River Nile. Here, you’ll enjoy an overnight stay.

Main Destination: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary  

Accommodation: Bomah Hotel Gulu (Mid-range hotel located in or near Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary)

Day 2Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, journey to the stunningly rugged and semi-arid valleys of Kidepo Valley National Park. These exclusive savannah plains are home to over 77 mammal species, including the famed African Big Five, as well as around 475 bird species. You’ll arrive in time for lunch, followed by your first thrilling game drive.

Day 3Kidepo Valley National Park

Set out early for a game drive to witness the dawn activities of Kidepo’s wildlife. Look out for elephants, warthogs, duikers, Jackson’s hartebeest, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, huge herds of buffalo, cheetahs, and a variety of bird species. After a restful afternoon, enjoy another game drive leading to the hot springs, where you can take a walk around these fascinating hot water streams.

Day 4Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive through the Narus Valley, a prime spot for birdwatching and wildlife sightings. In the evening, visit a nearby village for an enriching community experience with the Karimojong people. Discover their unique beliefs, values, traditional tools, crafts, and jewelry. Participate in a vigorous leaping dance with these joyful individuals.

Day 5End of Safari at Entebbe International Airport

Enjoy an early breakfast as you wrap up your safari and prepare for a scenic journey to Entebbe or another destination of your choice. Take in the beautiful landscapes and features along the way. If applicable, you will be driven to the airport to catch your flight home.
